Beer Cheese Soup with Assorted Toppings

soup with toppingsTo make soup: Combine one package JJ’s Pantry Beer Cheese Soup Mix with 7 cups water in a large pan on your stovetop. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer 20 minutes. You can also combine ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on high for one hour or low for two hours.

Now comes the fun part! JJ’s Pantry Beer Cheese Soup is great on its own but when you add your own special crunchy or meaty toppings, it becomes your household signature dish that your family or guests will request time and again.

Here are a few of our favorites: croutons, tortilla chips, corn chips, kale chips, Brussels sprouts chips, parmesan crisps, freeze-dried corn, crackers, toast, toasted seaweed, pumpkin or squash seeds, fried tofu, popcorn, salami crisps, bagel chips, pita chips, wonton crackers, oven-roasted edamame, oven-roasted chickpeas, oven-baked tortilla strips, chopped bacon, pancetta, cooked crumbled sausage, mini pepperoni pieces, whole grain mustard, caramelized onions, olives or olive tapenade, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, chopped nuts, roasted red pepper, chopped pimentos, smoked paprika, seasoned sour cream (mix with any JJ’s Pantry Dip & Dressing Mix like Chili, Cheese & Bacon!), crème fraiche, truffle oil or good quality flavored olive oil. And of course, never forget the flavor power of freshly ground black pepper or a pinch of really good sea salt!
